If you’ve had half an eye on the news or Twitter today you will probably already be aware that former Radio 1 DJ Mike Read has released a song called UKIP Calypso.
It’s a dreadful, dreadful song about Nigel Farage becoming Prime Minister (shudder) set to a calypso chord pattern and questionable ‘Caribbean’ vocals by Mike Read.
With that being said, it’s also a fun song to play along to – and a handy one to add to your repertoire for that next house party (just think of the ironic singalong fun to be had with it!)
To give you a helping hand at playing UKIP Calypso on the guitar, we’ve unscientifically got a below chord sequence together (via Chordify). It’s not spot on, at all, but it’s a start.
It’s basically a lot of messing around with chords A, E and D with a bit of Bm thrown in for good measure.
If you’ve got a better chord breakdown for UKIP Calypso, let us know on Facebook…

Perhaps expecting a bit of a backlash, UKIP haven’t made the song available to embed on third party sites so if you want to listen to it you need to go direct to YouTube.
